The new season for Aston Villa will be announced on Sunday, with a new squad set to be unveiled.
Villa have confirmed that the squad that will be unveiled on Friday will feature a number of new faces, with the club also confirming that it has added the signing of midfielder Alvaro Morata from Napoli.
Morata has been in the Villa squad since March this year, and has featured in two Europa League matches so far.
The 27-year-old has scored nine goals in the Europa League, and was an unused substitute against Manchester United on Saturday.
Villas manager Steve Bruce, who was sacked in December, has said that the players that will join the squad are “in awe” of the new players that have arrived since he took over.
“We’ve got a fantastic group of players, and it’s no surprise,” he said.
“I’m really proud to be a part of that group.
They’ve all worked really hard to achieve that and it feels good.”
They all know the club and they know what it takes to win trophies.
They all want to win.
“It is understood that Morata is set to sign for Villa for a fee in the region of £16million, which would make him the second highest-paid player at the club behind defender Christian Benteke.
Moratsa scored a brace against West Ham United on his first game back in Europe for the club, which he joined from Napolese side Atalanta in 2014.
