A man who saved the lives, not only of a young man but also of his mother and brother during a devastating car accident has been hailed a hero.
Timothy T. Smith was driving home after a night out with his wife and young daughter when he lost control of his Nissan Altima in a shopping mall parking lot in Tampa, Florida.
His car spun out of control and crashed into a large sign, killing him instantly.
Smith’s family has since lost the ability to drive.
The family has filed a lawsuit against Nissan, arguing that the company did not provide a warning to drivers before the crash that the Altima could roll out of its lanes and kill someone if it was not stopped.
The case is still in the trial stages.
In a recent interview with NBC News, Smith said he is glad that he was able to help people.
“I was a little lost,” he said.
“I wasn’t really sure what was going on.
I was just trying to get home.
I didn’t know how to drive, but I didn´t care.
I just wanted to get to my house.”
The case has been featured on television shows including “Today,” “Good Morning America,” and “This Week.”
