A History of Australia, Part 2 by FourFourSecond, I have a little more than a fortnight left to finish this piece.
I can only hope that my story will be published before the next election, which is likely to happen in the autumn of 2019.
That’s a long way off.
What’s happened to the stories we tell ourselves?
How has our world changed?
What will the future hold?
The answer to these questions lies not in the past, nor in the future.
It lies in the present, in the stories that we tell to ourselves, the stories about us, the ways we tell them.
The world we live in is fundamentally different to what it was, or was intended to be, in ancient times.
We are living in a time when the story of our own history is being written.
And what stories we write about ourselves, and what we do about our own histories, matters more than ever.
