The antique safe on the left was once part of a large house that was abandoned in the 1800s.
It was eventually used by the couple to store and transport valuable items, including jewelry and gold, until the late 1960s when it was sold off for a hefty sum.
Now, an owner of a vintage door knob in a home in California has put it to good use.
According to ABC News, an old antique door knob was found on a property in Orange County, California, and was valued at $8,000.
The knob was originally part of the home’s front door.
The owners thought they could get some use out of the knob, so they purchased it for $200, according to ABC.
When the owners of the property decided to sell it, they decided to put the knob in an antique safe.
According to ABC, the knob was used as a safety and storage device for a gold ring.
The antique safe was sold on eBay for $3,500.
The owner of the house had to be able to access the safe to remove the lock to make the change, ABC reported.
The new safe is now in use as the front door knob for the property.
